quotes Gee is a bada$s. To be world cup champion and 2nd at the Rampage, is unbelievable. I think he should have won the Rampage. Zink's 360 was impressive but he didn't do anything the rest of his run, he played it safe.

quotes If this wasn't a promo vid I would say VOD. I loved the studio stuff, I thought that was well done.

quotes I"ve been trying to decide between this, a Revolt, and a new Driver 8. I hear the Revolts are cracking though, has anyone else heard this?

quotes Second, where the hell are you getting all these percentages from? You say 100% of my comments are for life cycles, it's like 50%. Let break down the trailer, cause as I said I feel it's a good representation of the movie. The trailer is roughly 2:30 mins. For the first minute there is no riding, then at a minute there's riding footage for roughly 27 sec then they go into a mixed of mostly non riding footage for the last 30 secs, then the last 30 sec is titles. No they didn't show 80% of there footage in the teaser you idiot. Before you start throwing around numbers get your facts straight. I've seen the movie twice now and I can honestly say the movie breaks down like this 60% riding 40% other things related to riding. Yes it's different but at least these guys tried to highlight different aspects about what makes mountain biking so great and not stick to the typical rider/location type film that pretty much all action sport films stick to. Don't go throwing around ridiculous numbers, maybe it's not your type of movie but at least be honest in your assessment. Stop acting like a teenage girl and blowing everything way out of proportion. This is the last I have to say on this subject cause it's ridiculous to try and convince each other of anything. I just thought the people needed to hear the other side and someone's opinion who thought the movie was the most creative thing they've seen in years, especially in this genre. PS Life Cycles isn't a "one time watch' movie and I feel people will be watching it for years to come. Why? Cause it doesn't follow the latest trends and it's not all about the latest and greatest tricks. Those movie get outdated as soon as the next years comes out. Nice talking with ya.

quotes Oh yes the good old battle of words. I have seen the movie and actually I've seen it twice now. Once in Nelson and once in Trail, it was even better the second time. No one is going to win this argument. On a movie like this you are going to have polarized opinions and it's the same with any movie. Some people think "Lord of the Rings or Inception" is the best movie ever, other think it's total crap. Life Cycles ventured to make a different movie about mountain biking and I feel they succeeded.

quotes Ya maybe I do promote Life Cycles, they really are the first thing that got me stoked since I started coming to this site. Maybe I have a little home town pride since the guys that made the movie are from my the same region. But that aside it is still an amazing movie no matter how much of a fan I've been since the beginning. The trailer doesn't contain all the riding, there is way more non riding footage in the trailer then riding footage. The I feel the movie is just as real and more beautiful then The Collective. If you go by the standards your holding Life Cycles too The Collective wasn't ground breaking either. All they did was have a couple of the riders say a few dumb statements and added some sweet soul music. I saw a guy sitting in front of me at the premier with tears is his eyes. When was the last time you saw that at a bike movie? Ya it's not in your face lets see how many shots we can fit into one segment type of movie, but what they did do was something that personally I thought was well thought out. Not everyone is going to be a fan, but I feel Life Cycles is a breath of fresh air compared to the action sports formula. At least they're doing something different.

quotes You are titled to your "Opinion" but calling it weak? It may not be your cup of tea by any means but it sure isn't weak. Does it follow the typical bike movie formula, no!!!! I think thats a good thing. I'm sick of The Collective being re-packaged 4 fours times now, they're all the same movie just a different year. I feel the teaser is a great representation of the film. If you go into Life Cycles thinking you are going to 45 mins of straight riding, you'll be disappointed. If you go into Life Cycles expecting something different, something that isn't designed to stroke out the egos of the riders in it or show the latest and greatest spinny trick, then you might be pleasantly surprised. I never been in a movie that builds tension so well, that just doesn't happen in other bike movies. I've never been in a movie that really captures that way I feel when I'm riding. I feel Life Cycles does just this. Ya maybe Life Cycles isn't a movie for everyone. If you like watching 50 tailwhips or the same trick over and over again to Rise Against then Life Cycles probably isn't the movie for you. If you like seeing 2 or 3 tailwhips shot beautifully then maybe Life Cycles is for you. I understand if you don't like it, but it isn't weak. It's some of the best Cinematography i've seen just about anywhere.

quotes I've been watching this post for a day now and I finally have to pipe up. I've had the chance of seeing this bike in person and I have to say the pictures don't even come close to doing this bike justice. The bike really is one one the better looking bikes out there especially when you see it with it's graphics. There's a lot of miss information going on with this bike. Maybe devinci wants thAt I don't know. From what I understand the bike pedals like a hard tail with zero feedback yet with a 4 to 1 ratio on the rear shock the suspension is still very active on the smallest of bumps. It's not a single pivot by any means. Yes it looks like a sunn except for one big difference which is that this bike also sports the split pivot linkage. No they did not still it from trek DW helped design this bike and he came up with the split pivot which he actually went to court with trek. Yes it looks lot like an evil maybe the fact the DW helped design the bike has something to do with that? One thing I do now is that devinci hand builds their bikes in Canada so unlike pretty much every other bike company out there except intense you are getting a quality product except it's going to be half the price as an evil or intense. Also being hand built it's not going to break like a bunch of the evils are. Everyone keeps on complaining about how this bike looks like a specialized or an evil or whatever. What I'm seeing is a bike company that took the best thing each of these different companies had to offer and put it into one bike making it one of best bikes out there. Yes it has what makes a trek awesome on it and it has what makes an evil or the sunn on it also and I don't see how this is bad thing. It's taken all of these amazing technologies and put it into one bike and that is good for us. I think once people start seeing this bike in person and get a chance to ride it some of those nay Sayers might change their tune.

quotes Dude get off your bloody high horse and give Riley a break. Wan wan wan too many people riding our trails. Mommy I want all the trails to myself. Get over it you prick. First Riley has built more then one trail in the area. Second, he's built one of the sweetest trails in Nelson (Power Slave)and third, it's good for everyone when someone tries to promote tourism and mountain bike tourism at that. For our sport to thrive and really grow tourism needs to happen outside of the Whistler scene and I give props to Riley for trying something as hard as venturing into the mountain bike guiding business. Riley's worked hard to get where he's at and he's earned every right to guide anyone on any trail he likes.

quotes I talked with one of the producers and he said they are for sure releasing it on Blu-ray and they wished everyone could see it in high res. They've gone through a lot of effort to make beautiful shots and they would want the seen at the highest quality possible.

quotes Really that's all you have to say? The photos look bad because they were taken off the video, they weren't taken off a stills camera.
